Alright,, so the idea of this thread is to express comebacks you've thought of relating to some of the negative thing people say about and perceptions surrounding Autism.
So. I'll start.
So it is often said that people with Autism are "two dimensional."
And my response to that would be, well maybe they seem that way because they actuallly see the world in 3D instead of some cartoonish, stereotypical way that has been regurgitated and fed to them- that they have eaten unquestioning. That seeing the world differently allows one to have, truly original pattern of thought.
Also, as far as we can tell Autism doesn't impair a person's ability to feel emotion and that is hat provides REAL depth.
So. Take that Autism educational video lady. Yes yes. I know I'm mature.
But anyway. Have you heard any examples of stigmatizing speech that was mistaken for conventional wisdom or expert knowledge? If so, rebuke it here! Let the games begin!
